Orbit Pop: a beginner's guide

The idea

You fire orbs at a cluster above you. Matching three or more of the same colour clears them, and anything left hanging without support drops as well.

Where the points are

Big clears beat small ones. The most valuable shots are the ones that break a supporting group and drop everything above it, so it is worth spending half a second looking for that shot rather than firing at the nearest match.

Habits that help

• use bank shots off the walls to reach the sides
• clear the lowest rows to stop the field creeping down
• look at your next orb before you fire the current one
• keep firing - hesitation costs more than a slightly worse shot

Common mistakes

Firing at the top of the cluster looks productive but rarely clears much. Work at the edges and the supports instead.
